I think this aircraft is c/n b.013 ex G-AWEB which was perhaps the first to go to the US as the Series 100 (Conti 0-200) demonstrator with the importer Miami Aviation; hence, the regn N556MA. I understand it was bought by the current owner whilst he was in the US and it returned to the UK late last year, to be based at Norwich.

Given its lineage, it is sad that this aircraft has come to grief in the way that it has. From the looks of its condition in the pictures on Airliners it will be a complete write-off. In due course the aircraft will be sold off by the insurers; wonder if an enterprising museum might be able to get hold of it and restore it to static display condition. Newark?
