If they can ever make a fairly (in aviation terms) cheap turboprop it might catch on. Extra performance, increased TBOs and no need for AVGAS.

Right now it seems the only way a turboprop can be cost effective in light SE aircraft are in larger commercial planes..Caravans, Beavers, Otters, or owner flown luxury private aircraft PC-12…or TBMs.
