AW Whitley crash, Portslade, Sussex, 24 November 1940

Does any know anything about the crash of an Armstrong Whitworth Whitley in the garden of a house in Applesham Way, Portslade, East Sussex on 24 November 1940? So far I’ve drawn a blank, finding only one Whitley crash on land in Sussex that day, but that was some way distant, at Treyford, near Midhurst, in West Sussex. Although I’m aware of there being a number of broadly identical references to the crash, in books and online, each of these give no more than the aircraft type, location and date and doesn’t give the source of this information. Can anyone help me?

It’s possible that the crash location was Applesham Avenue, Hangleton, rather than Applesham Way, Portslade. Both roads are in Brighton & Hove but are some distance apart.
