Been asked to I.d this find from a former grass strip WWII Airfield. My initial thought was merely agricultural such as part of a feeder or drinker – but the remains of black paint means that I’m now asking the forums members for clarification. I’ll also add that it’s very heavy!

Looks a little flimsy and agricultural to me, maybe a hopper for a downpipe. those bolts are really clunky

Thanks for the response Gary. The finder thought it was part of a landing light which I discounted. The Airfield it came from was grass only!

Looks structural to me , post holder maybe. That would come in useful for something in the garden 🙂
