Hello everyone,
I’ve tried before sometime ago, but sadly with no luck. So, I thought I’d try again.
I’m looking for a photo of Gloster Meteor NF Mk 14 WS727, from 153 Squadron, which crashed on 09 Jan 1956, with the loss of both crew. This aircraft was from flying from RAF West Malling. I have copies of photos taken at the crash site of this aircraft, but I’ve not been able to find a photo of this aircraft prior to the crash.
Any help or leads would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks for your time.
Old Towzer.

Wow!!
That’s brilliant, thank you so much. You’ve made my day. I’ve been looking for a photo of this aircraft for literally years.
I used to dig the crash site back in the 70s when I was a lad, and still have some of the relics I found. I can now at last put a photo of the aircraft with them.
Thanks again.
Old Towzer.
Likewise thank you avion ancien
Yes, I have copies of the crash site and the crew’s funeral. They are buried in West Malling Church yard, which is a couple of hundred yards from where I live.

I suspect that you have seen the photographs at http://sussexhistoryforum.co.uk/index.php?topic=642.0.

Hello Old Towzer,
There is a photo of WS727 in Air Britain’s Aeromilitaria for the year 2000 – https://air-britain.com/pdfs/aeromilitaria/Aeromilitaria_2000.pdf
It’s on page 113. It’s quite a sizeable download so takes a bit of time to load.
