Reflex test in Spitfire V pilot's logbook?

I’ve got two entries in a pilot’s logbook from 611 Squadron when they moved to Matlaske in July 1943 and swapped their Spitfire LF.IXs for Vbs and Vcs. One entry is ‘Reflex test and local’ and the next ‘Reflex test and cine gun.’ Can anyone shed light on what a reflex test is? Testing the reflector sight possibly?

Hopeful thanks

Andy

Thanks All – that definitely seems to be the logical conclusion.

That makes sense,  Reflex was often used at the time to indicate a mirror was involved – eg TLR & SLR cameras.

It’s another name for a reflector gun sight and so that’s probably what was meant.
