Well, composites were good enough for that outfit to build a DSV…

The article mentions a seaplane version of the C-130.

Back in 1970-72, Lockheed mulled that idea over, calling it HOW- Hercules on Water.

They tested a RC model. It looked just like a 130, but below the window line was a chine that looked just like an Albatross.

The engines were also upside down to keep the intakes out of the spray.

So as they say, every old thing is new again.

Interesting idea 🙂 The Twin otter has done well and these had so many uses in the wilderness areas that maybe itll do well
