Hi all,
I have been watching the Britain By Steam/C5 trip from London to Glasgow featuring Piglet (Yorkshire Moors Railway) / John Sergeant and Peter Davidson basically making there way up to Scotland via all things steam powered. This had me thinking, I was wondering is it only a matter of time before all these Stop Oil and other greenies start turning towards other methods of protesting if they cannot get there way ? i.e, using Airshows/Steam Engine (Agricultural) attractions/Railway Enthusiasts etc. etc. etc. in fact anything they can think of that may affect the planet in they’re minds ? and spoiling everything for the masses that enjoy these events ?
As far as it all goes it seems to me that the various authorities around the country are barrelling along implementing more and more green strategies starting with these Ulez type schemes and 15 min City schemes they want in place to achieve this Net Zero date.
So will that include all the various displays across the country/world ? It just appears to me that as soon as these loonies get what they want they are not happy with what they achieve and it’s on to the next protest, they causing all sorts of mayhem no matter what the cost to joe blogs is, the best of it is the ring leaders in particular all seem to be from well healed families sadly apparently well educated but wasted to us normal people.
Or have I got all this wrong ?
Geoff.

^^^^^ Correct, utter madness, give someone else the problem.
Anyone that thinks they can control the climate need to be locked up, the planet will do what it wishes when it wishes.
Global warming only depends on which date you choose it began from, last 39 years no change in temp, the last 300 years we have had 3 warming periods and three cooling.

Coal mining in the UK is stopping completely any time now due to green issues.
Apparently it’s “greener” to import coal for steel production, and the drop in the ocean needed for heritage railways, from halfway around the world than to dig it up here.
Like chopping trees down in America, converting them into wood pellets and shipping them across the Atlantic to burn in a power station.
There’s nobody as stupid as a green zealot, apart from a politician obviously.

Blame it on the wimmin disrupting the 1910 Royal Ascot with their Suffragette shenanigans. You can’t prevent some grandchild of a veteran who fought for freedom expressing that freedom. It’s not all negative. The same forces are pushing us into Sustainable Aviation Fuel which is just another chapter of turning from whale blubber to Pennsylvania crude back then. Funnily enough, any engine designed up to 1930 was designed around castor oil lubricants, so the Red Baron is safe. They also ran on less than 87 octane fuel so not so complex to develop SAF for. Not so sure you need 130 Octane to run at zero boost at 300 feet in an Airshow at half throttle. Steam trains will be OK, Thomas the Tank Engine has ensured that for the next 50 years at least. You will not be able to have a pie or hotdog though, so eat before you go. You might actually find the new generation more bloodthirsty than you think, with no direct experience of conflict, so live ammo at airshows with running prisoners on the runways who commit social faux pas might be in. Its never as good or as bad as you think. It will be as good or as bad as the past, for sure.
