Hi there. I need help identifying this compass. I cannot find anything with the 4 parallel stripes on the glass face.
Any help will be appreciated

Hughes Aperiodic Compass ?
Bezel looks very similar to standard Husun Compass.
Image from the Compass Museum as linked to above.

Ivan. That is a different question and it’s helpful to know you don’t have hands-on with the item.
There appears there may once have been parts attached to the edge of the compass; perhaps it is a landing compass?

To Oracal
I’m not in the same country as the compass, so do not have physical access to the compass to find any markings etc. None of the pictures I have found shows the 4 lines, or an explanation of why they’re there.
I agree with someone who says it’s an MK IIIA, but I’m trying to find out why the 4 stripes and not the ‘T’ which is standard

The four stripes are parallel and are not the four wire normally used to form the radioactive/luminous “Tee”. So I surmise that it is not a standard P Type compass despite similarities. I note that around the edge obscured by clamp are text markings of what may be Mk.IIIA, or may not be!

Some old discussion and confirmation on page 2 that the P8M has four luminous stripes.

I have found this site helpful in the past
https://compassmuseum.com/aero/aero.htm
They list the P8M with 4 stripes.
