Quebec Canada Seaplane Wreck Found, Latecoere 631.

I cant put a link to this but a diver has found what he believes to be the remains of a Latecoere 631 six engined flying boat on the bottom of lake Simon, Quebec, Canada which if true raises a number of questions as all the 631’s are accounted for.

The report is by Newsweek so search ‘seaplane found newsweek’ and it should be there.

As a natural-born Canadian farmboy, this smells like fresh, warm BS to me.

Hmmmm … I’d tend to agree based on the little that’s been released, shades of Glenn Miller. What isn’t disclosed is visibility in that lake, and how deep this wreck is. What you think you see vs. what’s actually there can be strongly influenced by how much light filters down that far. Also with the depth, was technical diving required? That can also be a factor in what you think you see.

Sounds suspiciously like the Glen Miller Norseman to me… and currently smells about as fishy. We shall see…

I’d treat with caution a news report which says:

‘….. a diver had captured images “of a mass that could resemble an airplane,” which would have been down there for a very long time’

and:

‘”I saw bodies and kerosene barrels on the plane. I also hit the propeller” ……  [the diver] said’

and:

‘[the diver] claimed he found at least six propellers and that over 150 chests remain around the wreckage at the bottom of the lake’
