Warbirds of India – The Moradabad Hawker Hurricane IIB
Add one to the list of survivors… looks like more than enough for a full restoration, maybe for the Indian AF historic flight?

I’ve been to India a few times and the only aeroplane I’ve seen outside the airport was a Sea Hawk on a stick at Thiruvanantapuram.
That said, if you don’t mind no aeroplanes, or model shops, India is a good place to retire to.. The peole are very friendly and you can live like a king on a UK state pension. It helps of you can learn a bit of the local language but it’s not necessary

IIRC in Aeroplane monthly a few years ago interview with Tony Ditheridge of hawker restorations Ltd retired to India? I often wonder why you’d do that unless you were on the hunt for airframes -is he involved in this one?

Who’s that then? G-info still shows GB as owner

G-CDTI has a new owner.

I think the Bf 109 is being restored by Guy Black (G-CTDI). There was an article recently about the DH9 where he mentioned it.

I had to look up the 109 mentioned in the article. Has it re emerged at all?

Nah, this was clearly a Mk IIB – with a Merlin XX. The 12 gun wings were so obvious even the Police Academy KNEW it was a IIB !! (totally impressed by the UP Police by the way.. they knew their Hurricane variants)

A friend who knows far more about Hurricanes than I do, comments that it looks like the prototype K5083! This one became instructional airframe 1211M in 5/39. Food for thought, perhaps.
