Wrecks sites it's now the fashion

Covid and social media are resulting in some slightly bizarre emergent properties exposing fragile history to the mass puplic?!

1) In last few months ive come across a company advertising corporate style walks to wreck sites..is this a step too far?

2) Back in mid summer whilst on the pennine way I was lunching at bleaklow head cairn and a millenial appeared asking me the way to “the crash site” which one I teased (I knew he could only mean the B-29) his interest faded when I mentioned several around and the need of such analogue things as a compass 

I mused- never have I come across in all these years anyone let alone a young person on a hill asking about such an arcane subject..

I carried on southwards along the pennine way  rapidly realising it was an incredibly popular day – as far as eye could see people were walking towards me and I counted circa 70 cars park on snake pass road.

Few were dressed for the hills in the slightest, all were of family age many with young children in tow. In front of me a rare fellow rambler was stopped by a young lady asking the way to the crash site! (I began to fear some sort of hideous social media instagram phenomenon was at play) I walked on thinking this is surreal, several minutes later passing many more I was then stopped by a young lady with a toddler, “excuse me can you tell me the way to the crash site I can’t get a phone signal” I pointed back the rough way , maybe I should have said follow everyone else!
