I was thinking, after the desolation of paying events for warbirds to earn their keep as most owner operators need to finance the upkeep of these expensive bits of aviation including all the two seaters that have had the income decimated in 2020. So will this see a plethora of aircraft being grounded or even sold off if this pandemic destroys 2021’s Airshow?
Any thoughts out there?

I believe that there will be more coming to the market and lots of projects too, I think the rides will be very busy in the coming season, so go convert your single seaters now!

I wonder whether it is a reason a couple of operators/collectors appear to be thinning their aircraft and projects if the online brokers are anything to go by.

I can’t see organisers putting lots of money into events that can get dropped at a couple of days notice, It may work for Shuttleworth but I am sure finances are really hit, Duxford cancelled the BoB events I think the week the event was supposed to of gone ahead. I doubt that anything like normal will possibly be here until at least summer 22
The rides in the vintage have been badly hit so I know its hurt some of the owners.

I think the 2 seater trips should be ok , they were operating towards the end of the season. Air displays i suppose could come back as drive in types , i think Shuttleworth did it .This year everything hit quickly and completely , nowadays we understand about distancing + the vaccine may help.
I hope the aviation scene continues.
