Hi Historical Aviation Enthusiasts.
I run the Invader Historical Foundation, an online museum dedicated to the Douglas A-26 Invader. My goal is to track the history of all 2,503 A-26 airframes, as well as host history about the units and people who flew them. I have about 40,000 documents and images, almost 70GB in total. I’m trying to get some volunteers to help me in this endeavor. Particularly I’m looking for people who can transcribe PDF documents. I’m using the same platform as Wikipedia, but experience with that program is not required. In fact, no previous history with any of the historical documents is required. I’m willing to teach people who to do it. But as an example, I have the Individual Aircraft Record Cards (IARC) for all 2,503 planes. Even if I manage to get 10 planes a week transcribed by myself, it would take me almost 5 years to get them all online. And I also have thousands of pages of unit history reports, missing aircrew reports, and mission reports. If this sounds like it would be an interesting project to you and you would like to help, please send me an email at InvaderHistoricalFoundation @ Gmail.com.
Thanks for your time.
