The world’s most colourful Hunter, ex G-PSST, has forsaken her airshow persona, and is back on the front line, ready to fly tactical training missions with Virginia based ATAC Airborne Tactical Advantage Company , a government contractor located in Newport News, Virginia, USA.
It operates Mk-58 Hawker Hunter, Israeli F-21 Kfir, A-4 Skyhawk, and L-39 Albatros II military aircraft in tactical flight training roles for the U.S. Navy, Air Force, and Air National Guard. Its main air operations base is at Naval Air Station Point Mugu, California. ATAC comprises the world’s largest outsourced civilian, tactical airborne training organization.
Given that ATAC have experienced at least 4 Hunter crashes in the last eight years, we can only hope that things have now settled down a bit. It is such a shame that the UK could no longer support the Hunter on the show circuit, but of course since 2015, for a number of years the type was unable to perform in public.

The ATAC operates a total of 14 Mk-58 Hunters, which are leased from and maintained by Hunter Aviation, a subsidiary of Lortie Aviation.
