“Dear all,
It is with great sadness that I must let you know that we have taken the decision to cancel the
Duxford Battle of Britain Proms and our 80th Anniversary Battle of Britain Air Show 2020 at IWM
Duxford.
Every member of the team has made a fantastic effort, working alongside our partners including
Public Health England and South Cambridgeshire District Council, to explore all avenues for
hosting the air show under the current circumstances. However, we take our responsibility for
the safety of our staff, partners, volunteers and visitors very seriously and feel it would be
irresponsible to continue with the event in this rapidly-changing climate…..

how incredibly sad, not only for the public who were to attend but also all the owner operators that will of again lost revenue, the biggest shame is that ‘The Few’ who this show was to be an honour too in this 80th year cannot be celebrated, their losses, their injuries, their determination in not letting this Isle be lost to Nazi Germany is not celebrated.
They did not want to be known as heroes but want to be remembered for the job they did and the sacrifices given, I for one salute one and all.
