Picture problem – where ?

has popped up on the Coltishall Facebook page. There is some discussion as to where this actually is – none of our C type hangars had internal ‘props’ supporting the roof. AFDS in the 60’s was either Colt or Binbrook, both with C types….

Any ideas ?

Pity. There was 2 v Lightning F 1A there at the time as the Javelin.

What a fun puzzle!

That did cross my mind but several things put me off. Newton had similar C type  hangars to Colt, the scene looks too busy / crowded for a training setup, and the aircraft types match the 60’s AFDS

Just a thought…

I realise the Javelin doesn’t have its ‘M’ number applied but, possibly RAF Newton? Note the Lightning behind it. ISTR that the 9 SofTT also had at one time a Swift, Hunter and Vulcan.
