Dear all ,
just a update on what has happened in the last 12 months at the old RAF Westonzoyland site.
A band of merry men have worked tirelessly to improve the site, to get it up and running as a active light aviation airfield.
and of course working on the some airframes that are based there.
Restoring a very large Nissan hut as the club house, which is very like a WW1 Interwar flying club hut inside.
toilets, guard house, more hanger work, preparing the land for a bigger flight strip, various building works, and now we have just started building another WW2 style building as a workshop facility , there is always something to do.
There has been lots of preparation for the annual WARAG event on the 23/24th may .which is very popular,
work has been ongoing on Meteor T7 WL345 , which is pole mounted (ex St Leonard’s / Booker) which will be a memorial to the aircrew who served there. The T7 was a good choice as so many flew there in the early 50s .
Work is going on daily , by a small gang of dedicated people, some aviation enthusiasts, and Pilots alike.and of course various historical reenactor group members, military vehicle owners, together, there working little miracles every day.
Rules for site, have fun, No Politics. Work together for a bright future.
There are Tanks a Military vehicles too as
Photo credit goes to our captain of IT Mr Brookes, and myself a few of them ,
most of the photos are dated from earlier in the year, and I hope to add to these soon more up to date photos

Farnborough, it is a new small airfield, but it is on the original site, where 2 T2 hangers originally stood

Thankyou for your comments
Farnborough , the answer to your question is Middlezoy aerodrome is a new airfield on the opposite side of the microlight field , it’s south east of it , and will only have vintage or classic type Aviation , the Hanger is full up of flyers and those being worked on to fly . And of course a ever growing (and we’d love more especially aircraft types that served there or training aircraft ) static project types .
it all takes time but we’re getting there
it’s friendly and welcoming as are are all of those that work/ volunteer there , look up the airfield on Facebook “Middlezoy aerodrome “
I’m sure if contacted they will be pleased to welcome you

Looking great, congratulations. Is this the same place as the long standing microlight strip? Went there a few years ago and it was not enthuiast friendley. Or it it on a nother part of the original field?
