Problem solved: it is a part of the fuel tank cover in the wing of a B17F . Thanks for your help!

No it is not there – but the paint, the inked part number, the same part number sequence means that it is most likely a B17 part but obviously not on this G mark.

The B17 G parts list has parts 1-21053 and 1-21074 ( plus many others) on its list so yes I would assume a B17.
