R1082/T1083 wireless equipment

Thanks, thats the type of device I am looking for, but yet another/different design.

I have been fortunate to have tracked down someone who holds an original example –  confirmed from its part numbers, and compliance with the drawing dimensions.

It is a single 1″ diameter black “Dexine” tube that is 2′ 1″ long, with a machined steel bush (flute end) fitted at the aerial cable exit end.

It is a lot simpler than the black “Dexine” tube used in the Avro Anson that starts with the same 1″ diameter black “Dexine” tube from the reel to the floor of the Anson, but that version then has a second 1″ ID tube in place over the first (ie a double tube) for the section protruding below the aircraft, it has the same machined steel bush (flute end) but the Anson version has a Lightning shield that is fitted over the flute end.

Does anyone have any examples of the wartime trailing aerial tube ?

This photo is a retractable / stowable version

Its a bakelite / formica tube with a metal end piece for the cable exit

Hello – I am seeking leads on Air Ministry “Aerial Change over switches” ie 10A/1276 etc and “Neutralising Units” ie 10A/8475 etc, to suit my R1082 / T1083 Aircraft Wireless Set. Any assistance is appreciated

I am trying to locate parts of, or incomplete chassis/cases for the T1083 Transmitter aircraft wireless unit in any condition- (or complete units )

I have the coils – its the T1083 chassis and other components that I am after to try and build a static display set.

Anyone have any such parts or know where I might locate some?

Anyone have a basic chassis, bent or otherwise, from a wreck recovery?

I have both Mark, an intact 1082 and a large amount of 1083. I do not want to part with them but would if you had some good Spitfire swaps. Best to contact me on facebook as I rarely visit here

If you do Facebook, have you tried WW II Wireless Society?

Alternatively you could try the specific Wireless Forums on the Historic Military Vehicles Forum (HMVF) or the Maple Leaf Up (MLU) Forum as there is often a crossover between air and ground vintage radio enthusiasts. There is always VMARS you could also try.

I do have an R1082, but I’m planning on restoring it to working condition. I don’t think that it a flight version either. I’m also in the market for a T1083!
