Very interesting. In an alternative world you might even have started hunting Tiffies instead of Spits. In that case we had hundreds of them and the Spit was almost extinct.

Sobering reading and a great picture, thanks for sharing. I wonder did you ever get his views on flying the Typhoon and/or being part of the Typhoon force? I always wonder how the morale of the pilots survived such intensive ops, high losses and arguably not the best aircraft.
