Luscombe accident Baxterley Easter Friday pilot ok

I think we had more Cubs than Luscombes in the UK at one time! Only tea and biscuits? 😀

Don’t feel bad, most enthusiasts are lacking in knowledge of GA types and helicopters.

Once the rescue team had freed his trapped ankle Jerry was able to walk slowly , he was shaken up and somewhat sore and given a full hospital check up.

Of course you are entitled to this opinion, but I don’t know how you justify such a sweeping generalisation – perhaps through using a rather narrow definition of enthusiast? There is a great depth of knowledge concerning light aviation and helicopters amongst enthusiasts involved with such organisations as Air-Britain, the LAA, VAC, EAA etc and SFAIK amongst plenty of members of this forum too.

So far as this Luscombe accident goes, I too know Jerry and am glad to hear he is OK.

I know the pilot too! Worked with Jerry quite a bit last year. I hope he’s ok.

If anyone is looking to buy Luscombe spares drop me a line, the owner is a friend of mine and will not be rebuilding.

That is one very lucky pilot – I can imagine the fire service saw that and thought they were dealing with something much worse.
