While reading about the history of Rod Lewis Mosquito FBVI PZ474 I saw a reference to the loss of another Mosquito owned by Trans World Engineering Corp on which ” a B.35 was deliberately crashed in July 1957 and the pilot killed as part of an insurance scam’- I had not heard the story before so googled it and the incident referred to is this one
Mosquito B-35 VR801 N9919F 01-JUL-1957

I decided to google some more and found actually that Loomis was cleared of Murder on appeal (well the charge was ‘not proven’) and you can read all about the case here, and even if you are not a lawyer the transcript reads well so anyone can understand the case

For clarity Loomis was cleared of Murder at the Original Trial (well the charge was ‘not proven’) -he was appealing against the other 3 charges
