While searching Papers Past I spotted this article from the WANGANUI HERALD, dated 20 March 1920. Does anyone have any idea how many aeroplanes this involved? That’s a huge sum back then!
BIG AEROPLANE DEAL.
LONDON. March 19.
It is officially stated that the purchase price of the entire stock of surplus aeroplanes, etc., is one million sterling. The Government receives fifty per cent of the profits on re-sale. Messrs Godfrey Isaacs, Handley Page and Theodore Page are directors of the new company which has purchased the Government’s surplus aeroplanes.
