Boeing is Obligated to come out with any statement wether Pro or con on Any aircraft project that they are aware of according to SEC laws . If we dig deep into the entire weight-supplier story we can see that boeing has been echoeing this caution ever since august however they have maintained that the EIS will be as schedules . If there was something serious that boeing was aware of and that gave an indication of a delay in EIS then they would have to by Law report it via a caution stating the delay . Currently boeing plans to boost R and D by 200 million this year and by 400 million next year on both the 787 and 747-8 to get back on track and have 8 contingency plans out of which 1 is fully funded according to SpI .
