IWM Duxford Remembrance Sunday

Hello, does anyone who has been to Duxford on previous Remembrance days recall the goings on of the day(is there any flying)? Is it busy because it is free or is it the ‘normal’ amount of people?
Any help would be appreciated.

When I was working for the IWM at Duxford in the early 90s, the Museum was not marking Remembrance Sunday at all. My colleague was a Lay Reader in the Church of England, and I was with the local ATC Squadron (2461 at Sawston, just relocated to Duxford) and between us we persuaded the Museum to let us run a short service at the Flagpole near the Guardroom. I am delighted to see how the event has developed!

We’ve only been the once, and it was quite busy. Car park fills up very quickly. We attended the service in Air Space, which was very nice.
Food and drink outlets will no doubt have long queues.

Hi olly_s
Ive been a couple of times now, the last time i went there wasnt any flying as it was to windy they also had to cancel the poppy drop from the Dragon Rapide aircraft for the same reason, they normally allow you to pack within the airfield there are more people than the norm due to the free admission and of course the Remembrance Sunday itself, but i wouldnt let this put you off.
The remembrance itself was held within the aerospace hangar with seating if you get there early and the service is of course very well presented.
