Concorde Visits To South Africa

I am busy compiling a list of the relatively few occasions that Concorde flew to South Africa. The “hot & high” trails are well known but there are other occasions which seem to have gone unrecorded in South Africa. Here is a brief list of the ones I know of – can anyone add to it or offer additional information?

January / February 1973 Concorde G-BSST “Hot and High” trials in Johannesburg, supersonic trials in Cape Town (over the ocean)

March 1976 Concorde G-BBDG “Hot and High” trials in Johannesburg, supersonic trials in Cape Town (over the ocean). Data from production model compared with data from prototype

March 1985 Concorde G-BOAC Cunard charter flight to carry passengers to and from QE2 on its world cruise. Set new London to Cape Town speed record, new Cape Town to London record and return flight record for its class.

April 1990 Concorde G-BOAF Charter flight – no further details known

March 1992 Concorde G-BOAC Chartered for launch of new BMW 3 series. Carried out promotional flights between Johannesburg and Cape Town

1993/1994 Concorde G-BOAC No further details known

February 2000 Concorde G-BOAD American charter – Washington to Cape Town and return – no further details known

Awesome Sabrejet – absolutely perfect! Just the kind of details I am looking for. Did not know about that “Round the World” flight in 1989 at all.
That kind of flight schedule for all of them would be most welcome.

PS – for some reason G-BOAC also carried SAA markings on the forward fuselage for some unknown reason at some point during this epic flight.
