Miss Pick Up G-PBYA 75th birthday today

The Duxford, UK-based Catalina G-PBYA, known as Miss Pick Up, celebrates her 75th birthday today. Actually built as a Canso A for the Royal Canadian Air Force, we do not know her first flight date so her ‘birthday’ is marked on the earliest date we have, namely the date she was accepted by the Royal Canadian Air Force’s Western Air Command from the manufacturer Canadian Vickers Ltd.

In her 75th year she has been very busy flying at airshows all over Europe – the UK, Ireland, France, Denmark, Norway, Poland and even as far afield as Turkey! Here’s to her 100th birthday!!

I’m always impressed by the mileage that this ole bird racks up every year. Have a good one ‘Miss Pick Up’ :very_drunk:

She was representing the types use by the Soviets in the Great Patriotic War.
