Piper L-4 unit codes

A member of the Vintage Piper Aircraft Club is re-covering his L-4 and it will be painted in Olive Drab. He’s not aware of the history of his aircraft and hence wants to use appropriate, but perhaps generic WWII unit codes. What he is wondering is whether there is a list/database anywhere that lists the current codes in use on UK-based L-4s so that he can avoid duplicating them.

Thoughts anyone?

In a previous thread about markings on an L4A there were some links that lead to the accident history of particular aircraft:

In my googling I also found a list of all aircraft by serial number that showed units/bases etc.

Do you have the serial of the L4?

I think this is what I found:

Perhaps Air Britain or one of its members has a list.
Many years ago they published a book on Pipers, I suspect there is a marque enthusiast in the group that keeps an eye on UK L-4s.
