Radio tuner parts ID

Have found these two items which I’m trying to ID. The first box reminds me of a Seafire radio tuner. Unfortunately there are no parts numbers shown and the rear box cover plate is missing. The second item looks to be some sort of tuner but having inspected it again the smaller knob lets you select between MRP, GUNS and SRP. Again no part numbers.
Any takers on what they are.

Hi

The only documentation that I have is AP 2534B Vol 1 Ch 5 dated 1948.

Attached is a dated RAF memo which mentions the control unit in June 1944.

The SBA system was used in many bombers – not sure about fighters but as the Pilot would have controlled the unit you have it might be best to look at cockpit pics of aircraft of interest.

Cheers

Hi

The first one is a Standard Beam Approach control unit – see attached. Looks like they have used the fully variable Seafire tuner dial to replace the clunky switch based Bowden cable of the original control box.

Hmmm, what an accurate drawing, even the fixing bolts are dangling out the same way that yours are!

Cheers
