I agree the first is well practised as he said he likes to pull up to the fuel pump without pushing, I guess the weight of the PAX may of resulted in the 50 foot short.

The guy in first one was well used to doing it and he had plenty of height to start with. No he definity knew what he was doing, also he was playing to the camera a fair bit.

Deadstick Champ is no worse than normal gliding, and he seems to know his aeroplane pretty well.

As for the low flying, all pilots have their own personal comfort zone, either taking into account, or ignoring the associated risks. If you want to be really safe, best to not go flying at all.
