Apologies for the lower quality photo but was taken from an angled seat 1A on a Qatar Airways A330 operating the BA flight from Muscat, Oman last Friday August 3, 2018.
I guess this could be in Airlines, Military or Historic!
However, it was interesting to see the two Royal Flight BAC 1-11’s still on the ground whilst we were taxying for take off.

That UH1 (AB205) was built from the remains of a B212 & AB205 by Airworks!
Compare the nose of the museum aircraft with the nose of a B212 and you’ll see they are the same.

Interesting stuff guys and yes spotted a few Skyvans hiding in the thickets as we taxied too! We visited the Armed Forces Museum which was fascinating too, with nicely preserved examples of a Beaver, Skyvan, Hunter, Strikemaster and UH1.

I thought I spotted a 1-11 tail last year near the Royal flight end of Seeb, there was also a few decaying Skyvans hiding in a thicket near the taxi way.. happy childhood memories of BAC 1-11 trips to Salalah and Thumrait.

Not Royal Flight. Just plain old Air Force. Used for passenger/trooping/ cargo flights. Occasionally 551 would be put into ‘VIP’ fit to move government ministers.
Although, HE Sayyid Fahr al Taimur, the late defense minister and Sultan’s uncle liked flying in 551 to Europe.
