I watched the series as a youngster, only to wind-up working at BD with one of the stars of the show. Strange how life works out, top bloke to boot.

It is available on an unofficial dvd, amongst many other series including Fighter Pilot.
Unfortunately the site escapes me at the moment.

Great pity this was never released on DVD. I’ve still got the book that was produced and a DVD would have been well worth having, especially now with it being the 100th anniversary of the RAF. The trouble with the BBC is that they don’t know their audiences and what would appeal to them. They recently made a stunning Natural History programme on the Big Cats and didn’t even bother to release it on Blu-ray!
