Hi All,
Thanks for the post Paul..:eagerness: I really hope they can locate the Grumman Duck and crew, as with all those who locate lost aircraft with crew it means
so much to the families of the airmen who where listed MIA and gives closure to part of they’re family history.
As for them locating a second P-38 I am sure that as search equipment improves they will eventually be able to locate all the missing lost flight aircraft as with anything it’s the cost of retrieval and the willingness of many to persevere no matter how many hoops they may have to jump through or overcome
problems that inevitably happen when recovering anything so good luck to all the team as far as I am concerned.
Geoff.

Get that Maid of Harlech out of its hole. Data plate restoration must be much easier there, than in all that ice.

does it matter which one? good news that the market is strong enough to support another recovery, I see this trend increasing, there was a time 30 years ago when wrecks were almost ignored and left to history bods and souvenir hunters.

A picture exists of all P-38 on ice as they knew where glacier girl was and it’s relation to the new find perhaps they have extrapolated what one in same relative position assuming constant ice movement
But still subject to variables !

They identified which particular P38 it was by the 5606? I think they left something out of the story..
