Short Belfast instrument panel from Car boot

Hi guys,
Always found the big Tyne powered aircraft interesting and came across this instrument panel at a car boot for £30. I know nothing about collecting British aircraft parts, would it be realistic to refill the panel or is it a whole load of unobtanium?
any help would be really appreciated as this is out of my sphere!
cheers
Matt

Thanks chaps, I think you’re right that slowly but surely will win the day! The magnetic indicators will make a big difference to how it looks so I’m looking forward to finding some, I think they are the small dowty type? Thanks for the help and pointers guys, much appreciated, I’ll have to try and narrow down which a.c. this panel came from not too many to chose from!

I’m just impressed that Belslow bits can turn up at car boots, given that there was never a surplus of the things! I would have bought it too – I grew up under the Stansted flightpath so I have a big soft spot for them.

Patience is going to be required here!

The doll’s eyes look like the small cheap looking ones with the square shutter – I’ll see if I can find a picture. This looks a bit different from the Pilot’s notes which show a mixture of big and small.

Clamps are one of those things that everyone nicks so you may well find it cheapest to buy a scrap airliner panel and do likewise. Just stuff some big instruments in the holes for fastest visual progress!

Thanks for that, that seems about right, I looked under the fascia and there are two screw holes opposite each other on the instruments without the big clamps, anyone have any idea what they look like?
I have fitted a couple of NOS instruments, worked out the altimeter is the same as the Tridents stby and the horizon is a Ferranti FH7. I need a couple of AEI switches and I think the magnetic indicators are going to be the Dowty Dolls eyes but not sure, need a load of them. If anybody can assist I would be most appreciative, very expensive to purchase all off ebay and there arent any on ebay at the moment!
cheers

I imagine there should be a clamp there, the single screw is the tightening screw and there is probably another hole opposite underneath the Plastek fascia which holds the clamp.

Thanks for that, much appreciated! Managed to purchase a couple of instruments and fitted the synchrometer in its clamp which is nice but i’m wondering how do you fit the other instruments in this panel?? They all have a single corner screw on the instrument panel, there must be some sort of mounting clamp arrangement I am missing out on here, any help would be appreciated here guys!
Thanks

This picture taken at the Open Cockpit evening at Cosford doesn’t add much but I thought you might be interested.

Look on EBay, a fair few of those I have seen on there, the rpm’ are fairly common, might take a little while of looking and waiting, need not cost a lot for some of those, if you go to a dealer you will pay a lot more, not that I know of one

Oh thats helpful thanks, do you have the parts number list? Looks like a Tcas was fitted in mine at positon 23 (not sure what 23, is OAT gauge?) so perhaps it was from one of the heavy lift aircraft

Thanks I was pleased to find it, is there a source for the parts lists etc to work out what is required? Can only find some poor quality photos on the net so difficult to work out exactly which instruments are in it. So far I think it has a Ferranti Mk6 horizon in the bottom left but thats it so far!

Good score for £30, looks like it has instrument clamps still on it which sometimes are disproportionately expensive. Once you have the layout and idea of what you need, patient trawling of Ebay would I am sure provide a fair bit for it. But any panel costs add up over time as you re populate it. A good little project
