Hi
Would anyone be able to help with the i.d.with this aircraft tail wheel i.d. (Maybe Rocketeer)
The wheel in question has the Air Ministry crown on the tyre itself but i guess it could still be post war, i have sent an ebay link showing an identical wheel on ebay (as having trouble uploading photos) with the exception of the tyre sizing as mine measures (4.95 – 3.5) also i have some numbers/stamps that read as follow. as follows
25497
836
5497

Many thanks in advance

Sorry for late reply,
thank you for your input Ex Brat and ericmunk i will look into both avenues suggested now im back with my keyboard.
Would anyone else have suggestions in regard to the tyre sizes wheels etc?
I would imagine if they were post War that they would be early going by the Air Ministry marking that is located on one of the tyres.
I have 2 of these wheels that are joined by means of a wooden structure you can see this on the Facebook page (Factory stamps WW2) if you would like to see a photo.
Any help would be appreciated as always.

Bith sizes of wheels/tyres were fitted to a wide range of gliders in the 1940s, 1950s and 1960s including Slingsby’s, EoNs, etc

Thank you Trolly Aux and Rocketeer for your valued replies, if you do get a chance Rocketeer to see your listing it would be great to narrow the hub down if poss.
In regards to the encircled W or M and ideas what this might represent also the tyre size itself as i believe most fighters were 4.00 – 3.5 would anyone know what type of aircraft would the 4.95 – 3.5 of been fitted to, a possibility as Trolly Aux has said possible Defiant?

I’d say post war. Not got my full list here at mo. Your tyre is prob left over War stock. Obviously not Hurri 1 or the others fitted with the 5000 wheel hub.

I think its the same size as a Defiant but I cannot see the AH number in full which starts ‘AH50’ AH500 is Hurri I
