Dismantling Shackleton Control Column

A pal of mine, not on this forum, is struggling to dismantle a Shackleton MR2 Control Column. He wants to remove the wheel from the column.
Does anyone on here have experience of this, or relevant documentation, by any chance?

Many thanks,

Andy

Removing the two screws was a good idea. The centre boss is keyed. I swapped my original yoke with a better one some time ago. I can try and refresh myself this weekend. I think the boss/ key way is a diff diameter iirc. You should be able to get the yoke off ok.

Btw Dave, mine will stay as a shack. It has sentimental value coming from a dear friend in London in the 80s. I remember taking it from his home to my digs on the underground. I make take it to Cockpitfest to display

Nice yoke and column, was this the one on eBay last week as a ‘Buy it now’?

Eventually the Shackleton columns will be even rarer than Lancaster ones !

I understand the column is the same as the Lancaster’s, and is needed for a cockpit mock-up, whereas the control wheel is different and wil be for sale if it can be removed in one piece!

Sorry can’t help but I’d be interested in the column if it’s not needed.
