Back in about the summer of 1963 whilst a young spotter at Baginton Coventry I saw a mass formation of V bombers, Vulcans, Victors and Valiants fly overhead at about 15000 feet, perhaps a bit higher as some were contrailing, but I could just about get the serial numbers off a couple with my fairly powerful telescope. They were all in the anti flash white and travelling in a east to west direction.
It was a weekday at probably early afternoon. There could easily have been upwards of 40 aircraft, travelling in waves.
Anybody no what this exercise was all about and any other details.

Post this PPrune Mil aircrew forum, still lots of ex-V-Force crew post there, so someone on there would likely know.
