Did the BBMF have part of a Tempest in the late 1970's

I’m probably getting mixed up with Spitfire TE311, but I seem to remember that, while visiting the BBMF courtesy of my girlfriend’s dad, I saw a Tempest fuselage and was told that they had a long term plan to rebuild it. Does that make sense or am I dillusional (again)? Please help!

Not sure if it helps, but I seem to remember it was just the fuselage and engine. I don’t remember there being any wings there.

As an erk on BBMF around that time, i dont remember any Tempest. We did have Spit 19, PS915 I think, on loan for initial griffon 58 trials. Chiefy Rushen will have more idea on this 😉
