Lancaster engine shutdown update

From Bof B flight….
In order to allay fears and reduce unwanted speculation, it might be useful to comment upon the PA474 No 4 precautionary shutdown on Sunday. Because of the unusual nature of the oil pressure indications in No 4 engine, the working assumption is a fault in pressure indication rather than the engine itself. Nothing has been found to change this view and confirmatory work is ongoing at this time.

It’s due out tomorrow! There we’re people at the CGY fence saying the pilot or crew had told them it could have just been a faulty gauge or something!

Not that big a deal.

North Stars did the same thing many times, although their Merlins were worked harder.
