Hurricane N2600 Merlin

After a quick blast with my power washer it’s come up quit nice, this is the Merlin Engine from Hurricane
N2600, damaged in combat on the 18th May 1940, the pilot F/O Newling bailed out and was able to make his way back to our retreating troops and back to England where he then flew in the Battle Of Britain, sadly being killed in 1941.
The Merlin was recovered in the 1990’s, despite the damage to the front, the rear end is still quite complete.
This aircraft was fitted with a rotol propellor with metal blades.
