Hi all
I am interested to know if any one can point me in the direction of a photograph of a 213 Squadron Hurricane during the Battle of Britain? Preferably later on during the battle after the moved to Tangmere as I am interested to see the style of Code letters applied.
I have searched High and low on the Internet and in various books but all I can find are photos of 213 in North Africa in 1941!
I am interested as part of some research into a painting I am assisting with covering an incident which I believe befell Hurricane V6544 on 15th October 1940 when the aircraft Force landed at Marchwood in Hampshire, following an engagement over the south coast. My Grandfather witnessed the Hurricane at very low level and in trouble over the New Forest as a ten year old school boy on his way back to school from lunch.
I have had a very interesting time in reading some of the accounts of this and trying to find the final location the aircraft landed at which I believe I have now worked out. If any one has any other information on the Hurricane such as the propeller type that would be much appreciated as well.
Both the Pilot and the Hurricane were to fly again.
Many thanks
Matt

Really nice images. Thanks chaps!
I guess the question I would have is are these detailed based on photographic evidence or an educated guess for the Codes etc?
