last week I bought a wing access hatch as I could see an R3 inspector stamps on it.
It is a tank strap access hatch from the wing.
The part number is a very Avro number 34F4595.
Also stamped 17SS322.
Is this part number for Anson, Lincoln or Lanc?
The two parts catalogues I have for Lancaster do not cover the inner wing.
Thanks

For the record, the mark which appears to read 17SS322 is in fact 17SS3221 according to the Lancaster Parts List AP2062A&C. We have a similar piece marked 30SS3221 from ED908. Both these differently numbered access panels are shown in the outer wing and the wing tip.

Would have been even better if the throttle set had been from lancaster and the hatch from 748!

Just checked Avialogs Lancaster parts manual and 34F4595 is shown as being access hatch on Lancaster lower wing.
Excellent.

It also came with a throttle quadrant cover that i have just identified as from an Avro 748 which I suspect was built in 1964.
Don’t think the items are related as part numbers are very different even if the quadrant has a written r3 stamp.
