DH106 Comet Ladies Powder Room

Time to change the tone of discussion with a delicate question.

I acquired this small panel from Arco as a de Havilland panel.

It is marked with a DH stamp and part number Issue 2 6N.5875.A

What was surprising was that it is a 1950’s pink colour.

With a bit of elimination I am sure it is from the Ladies Powder Room of a Comet.

The text of the Haynes guide says that the Gents dressing room was Grey/Silver but the Ladies washroom had “delicate pink – furnishings”

I can only find one image of the interior of said facility:

So two questions

Does anyone have an image of this sign in a Comet powder room ?

Was the ladies powder room only in earlier versions or throughout production?

Thank you.

While it looks somewhat pink, is it possible it’s supposed to be a neutral tan-ish colour?

Those of us of a certain age might recall schools and various government buildings using wall tiles and fixtures in that colour.

Although not sure what RAF Transport Command used them for in their Mk2’s

Now that might open a whole new can of worms!

A bit of further digging shows that the Powder Room was present on Comet 1’s and 2’s but was just toilets on the 4’s- which I assume became less feminine..

Although not sure what RAF Transport Command used them for in their Mk2’s:
