I have a similar story. While doing my helicopter training, my instructor had us land on a farm airstrip that was hosting a gyrocopter meet that some friends of his had organized. They were impressed by our Bell 47 and I was curious about their aircraft.

I don’t see many Bensons at airports. I assume many are flown from their owner’s property.

I once visited an airfield (Avon Park?) in Florida in a C150 – there was a gyroplane meeting going on, so we stopped to have a look; they’d all been trailered in.

Looks like a good variety of fun aircraft at the field.

There is a nice enclosed (and expensive looking) gyrocopter at the local general aviation field, it has a radio so he doesn’t have any ATC issues at the controlled field. He flies it often…but keeps it in the pattern. Still, it looks fun, though my fixed wing friends look askance at it.

G-ASME was stripped for spares and now consists of a frame with wheels. If you need more info go on the CAA web site G-INFO and type in the registratIon BIHX. The owner of that Gyro is the owner of whats left of G-ASME,his address is included in the details

W&R reports it as at North Coates held as spares for G-BIHX. Still there at Feb 2016. There is also a photo of it there in the report linked below, dated April 2011.
