Last August we visited the Myreton Motor Museum,Aberlady,E Lothian for a wee look round.
Upstairs among assorted toys/vintage outboards and petrol cans etc we spied a wooden propeller : )
I am just trying to tidy up the computer desk and clear all the little bits of paper we have as reminders LOL
Anyway the prop is marked as LP1020A 80 Le Rhone
So it is a Lang Propeller with a pitch of 1020mm.
Possibly for a Sopwith Scout (pup)
The lady in the museum said it had been found at an old factory (woodwork shop ?) in Leith.
I also wrote on this piece of paper that I had read report number M31 (21 oct 1916) which described the LP1020 on sopwith scout (possibly other a/c as well ?)
It was a dark prop in a darkish building,we could not get a clearer pic of the AID markings but they are plainly visible in pic 4

Thanks A.M.
This morning I have managed to re discover a reference to Report M31 which I had made a note of on the ‘piece of notepaper’ – but of course I had forgotten to note the origin of M31 LOL and could not find a copy of the report last night.

I’d have said Sopwith Scout too: distinctive double taper.
