WW1 Prop identification ?

Sadly this once lovely 4 blader has been chopped !

It will be noticed that this was never fitted to an aircraft as no holes for the hub have been drilled, but I just wondered if anyone had any ideas what it might have been made for as the blades are narrow and pointed

Only numbers on is LP4317

Also the strut ?

Any ideas ?

What is a blade length from the centre of the hole to the tip? I think the LP number is a Lang propeller number.

As it has never been finished, it probably was something left over from a factory. I would suggest that you look what WW.1 manufacturers their were in the area in which you found the prop. Lang were at Riverside Factory Weybridge.

I know this shouldn’t be a guessing game, and so apologies as this nothing more than a guess, but I thought maybe FE2B. The reason I say that is because a FE2B prop boss with the blades cut off looks very like that. We had one with a clock mounted on it. I’ll get my coat… best wishes, Phil.
