Doesn’t mean there is no interest in it, I would have it, but can’t just at the moment, if it’s still available in the new year I might be able to do something
Typical of museums, in my past experience donation is more expected.

I had an extensive email back from the FAA museum, it was really interesting, states while they do not have any Sturgeon parts, the budget is tight at the moment with other restorations and worries about radiation in the instruments etc, just not enough content at the moment for them to throw the switch on acquiring it.

£1500 is a good deal. That much money would not buy much in the WW2 era, nor would it buy much for a Lynx! A P-51 screen unit would be a snip at £5k if I could find one….I can’t!

Fouga – Regardless of its unique nature, £1,500 is a lot of money by anyone’s standards and that would buy a lot of kit for other preservation projects. So, I don’t think that saying that a particular museum would be ‘fools’ not to snap this up is very helpful.
Worth every penny in my view.

It usually happens in the last 8 seconds on Ebay when the bid snipers start

Would be good to see the ‘job so far’ picked up and added to over a prolonged period, as more parts come to light (if indeed any more do)…..

It is a nice cockpit project and deserves someone to take on the torch. Some might say I have too much already in the way of cockpits and I agree.

She certainly is a short Sturgeon

Are you taking about the First Minister of Scotland?
By: TonyT - 15th November 2017 at 20:28
Since he also has the sidewall parts and has listed it as a project and considering that is probably the sum of all the remaining Sturgeon bits, I didn’t see the need to make a huge long thread title when the link explains it all. Aircraft have been rebuilt around less.
Fouga, I agree so have emailed the FAA museum to make them aware of it.

When attached to what looks like a tea trolley perhaps?

Since when does a windscreen and an instrument panel qualify as a “cockpit”?
By: Fouga23 - 15th November 2017 at 15:53
The RN or FAA museum would be fools if they do not snap this up!
