hello all, a fellow metal detectorist has found this in RAF Banff, I was hoping someone may identify what it is and if possible what type of aircraft, top serial is C3957, Bottom one C2973 but on the same side as that one a tiny circular stamp what looks to be D9 in the circle or B9 or even 60 upsidedown(?) any help would be appreciated, the guy gifted me this piece for free as he knows I like collecting aircraft bits.
I think its an aircraft light(?) the glass is intact and you can see inside the piece itself, ill try make a better photo… Im guessing its mosquito or beaufighter(?)

Oddly enough, what Jagrigger says was my second guess.

Reminds me of an accumulator pressure skin gauge – they only need a thin feed pipe

A hydraulic reservoir sight glass would be unlikely to have a narrow feed tube into it though?

Looks an awful lot like a Dunlop Air Filter, but the glass has thrown me!
