When I was in A&P school one of the instructors made the mistake of mentioning he was going in for surgery on his ‘rhoids. The offer was made to save him time & expense by employing the alternating red hot poker/dry ice method (burn/scream/sizzle/sigh, repeat as necessary).
For the next two weeks leading up to his surgery & for a couple of months or so afterwards all we had to do was mention hot pokers or dry ice & his left eye would twitch uncontrollably.
